I wanted to revisit the thread concerning the band Oreja, and their blind bassist, Reed, so I went with Googling key words instead of the search function here, as that brings better results. What came up, and what I was surprised about that there’s no mention of her here as far as I can tell, is this impressive woman…

New Album: Ciara Moser, Blind. So what?

A Berklee student, and now she teaches there? Amazing.
Ciara Moser – Ciara Moser – Professional Bass Player

And I did find the Oreja thread.

Wow, those kids in the 2nd vid are most certainly alright!

Special props to that drummer’s brush work.

Watching her presentation now. Curious to know how written music, or writing music, is approached.

Thanks.

EDIT: Interesting… she says she has to memorize everything, however there is braille music notation! Braille music - Wikipedia

Blind from birth, started on Suzuki method violin as a child, I’m astounded that she’s seemingly been overlooked here…

With a little Konnakol, so badass. I wish she would release a CD of this, she only has downloads so far. Tone to die for too.

Just astounding stuff. It’s interesting that the singer is employing Indian rhythmic singing(I would assume she is Indian), and Mohini Dey has explored that as well in her music, of course. Hmm…a Ciara and Mohini duet, that would knock the earth off its axis.
