Pretty cool. How about some in wall speakers... and put the amp in the wall as well. Just a power/volume and input jack on the wall. To be really crazy, get one of those power cord retractors from old vacuum cleaners and have your guitar cable suck into the wall as well. Or if you have in wall speakers for a small stereo, just find a way to get your bass into the aux input of the stereo. You aren't going crazy with volume at this point anyway.. quality in wall speakers should be fine.
If it was a standard drywall wall, I would of done an in wall installation, but I already had the speakers, which I would have to buy for an in wall, and this way I have a small amp I can take to low volume jams/acoustic jams when I don't want to lug the ROUS out.Pretty cool. So I did some digging and it appears that they split the tone monster amp harnesses from the main company and then after that they adopoted that name for their whole line of products, or something along those lines, the guitar fuel site is out of date, here's a link to the ebay store,I see a preamp from them, in that list, but the link on their website to their store shows that they aren't selling anything. Hey no problem, if I wasn't so busy right now I would probably be doing something a little more involved as well; I looked for mini amp designs after I blew the caps in my honeytone but I didn't find anything to compelling and then I found these amp harnesses.
I'm pretty sure it's around six am where you are, the fact that you're up means you're probably busy.
That is just too cool, great design. I always noticed that my car speakers had tremendous bass response considering how small they are. I'm guessing some really good speakers could be had for cheap at almost any junkyard. The Phil Jones briefcase amps are cool but pricey, rather go DIY. I have the carpentry skills, but the electronics is a bit Greek to me. Subbed.
Part of the reason car audio speakers have so much bass response is "room" acoustics, typically cars have a natural bump at 60-80hz and frequencies below that are boosted at slightly less then 12db/octave. They also aren't very efficient, you have to choose between speaker size, efficiency, and bass response, you can only chose 2 in most cases. As for electronics you can get a harness and just hook up a speaker(like I'm doing) or you can get slightly more complex and powerful and get a preamp of your choice, and a small 12v class d amplifier

Tone wise its very interesting, on the first setting it does a decent clean with a smidge of almost tube like distortion, the second setting is a little choked and farty with just the P or the J but with the series wired PJ it has a good tone, the third setting is nice and sizzling and fuzzy and woolly, the tone control has a huge effect on the characteristics of this setting. The tone control is kind of odd; on the first clean setting clockwise increases clarity, but ok the two distortion setting it does the opposite, the volume knob on the amp, the tone control on the amp, and the volume knob on the bass all interact to give a wide range of tones.
A look at the guts
The little thing that makes it work, since this picture was taken I upgraded to a 15v battery pack
In it's new home, I don't think the SO will mind
And for those wondering about the tiny house here it is in all its 210 sq ft of glory, I'm standing at the door and under the bed, to my right is a futon and there's another wardrobe on my left.

Excellent work on the speaker box, that looks pretty cool! Where do you keep your bass, in the wardrobe?
By the way that flat washer you couldn't find for one of the pots is stuck to one of the speaker magnets

It was Zoe cottages out of Salem, we just got the shell because the local media basically put him out of business for being to busy, ironically Salem now has a ban on tiny houses... My family and I finished it.Enjoy you new home and cab.

Depending on the bass it's either hanging in front of the broom and dustpan or its in the wardrobe
