Circle K strings...

Plus, the tone is already warmer than my D'Addarios so by the time they break in they should be perfect!

I don't know about you, but I've had mine on for a month and haven't noticed any significant difference in terms of tone. I think these things are already broken-in. :)

I'm so excited for payday on Friday. I'm ordering a Dropped 5-string 130 set + a single .174 for G#,C#,G#,C#,F#,A# tuning. Finally my Schecter will have the amazing balanced strings it deserves. I'm planning another nonstandard 6-string set or two by Christmas also.

Gotta say, I'm a lifer.

There are a few things coming...

Two gauges are designed but not yet produced that sit between the .200 and the .232.

5ths sets will be available when the new gaugings appear - shortly after NAMM.

A longer taper design is due as well - this is for the through body guys and for Warr/Stick players.

Clip sounds very nice. Less string noise sounds promising also, that's my main gripe with rounds. Another one happens when you play a groove on the bottom strings and do a double-stop fill on the top strings and it sticks out like a sore thumb. Hope there's a chance of a double-ball set for my headless.

Perfecting (best I can) what is unique to us - once it's all dialled in it can all be applied to steels. I want that and so do a bunch of other folks.

Nearly there...

Skip, I'm really impressed with the progress y'all have made since I first met you at NAMM in January. I just ordered another set from y'all this morning and I'm quite excited to see how my Schecter Studio 6 w/ EMG DC's handles them. I have very high hopes.

Just some kudos for you and the others that make up Circle K. :bassist:

I'm wondering about going one step up in gauge and getting a balanced .142 five string set. I have the .136 set now.

The reason being I like to dig into the strings when I'm playing and this set is just a tad light for that. But I don't want to get a set that's too heavy either. The .136 B string is heavier than any other string I've played on and it's been an adjustment to be able to press it down so that the notes will ring clearly. I do enjoy the string because it buzzes and rattles less than any other B I've used, so I'm wondering if a .142 will buzz/rattle even less and will allow me to dig in more.

Just thinking.

flats? With tone? That would be the bomb. I know that sounds a bit outrageous, but it has been on my mind over the past few years.....the possibility of a flatwound set of bass strings that deliver the tone of roundwounds. I've strung my 5 string BEE with Thomastik flats & loved the way they felt. The tone was cool. The price was not cool. I can only imagine the inspiration I would experience from playing what feels like flats & hearing roundwound tone. I'm thinking .136 .100 .080 .058 .038 .025 Let me know when those are ready;) Thanks Skip!

You all here at TalkBass have been very supportive of what we are trying to do for bassists with our strings, so I wanted to impart some very difficult news that will affect recent purchasers and anyone looking to buy strings from us in the short term.

My business partner is dealing with a family member that was given a terminal diagnosis and we will be transitioning near-all facets of operation to Seattle from Colorado. It will take a bit of time to get the inventory shipped and sorted and ready to fulfill any new orders, and there is the chance that some existing orders will be delayed.

Any customers on the books that have an order that can't be fulfilled will receive an email with several options regarding their purchase that we will be glad to honor.

We will likely enable purchasing again the week following NAMM.

The world is losing a very good man - any positive energy you can float is both useful and appreciated.

All our hearts are with you guys Skip. You're more than just a forum member with a product - friend or family is a better description. Strings or no strings, you've got to do what you gotta and all that you can handle in the circumstances. I hope to speak on behalf of everyone in saying that it's not all about us. We understand.

Warmest Regards

I'm so sorry to hear that. My prayers go out to the family member. It was great having you guys in the Denver area--someone delivered my strings to my house on his way home from work, twice! After the first two sets, I bought six sets at once, as I recall. I still have four unopened sets for future use. I also had Colfax Guitar Shop interested in stocking your strings for bass, but I don't know if they ever contacted you. They are great people.

To anyone who hasn't tried these yet, once things get relocated and settled, give them a shot... They settle in very evenly so in a way you never really notice a transition from new to settled, and the tone has a good bottom and a growly top. I look forward to seeing sets of strings tuned to 5ths available soon.
