Balanced tension is awesome. I think Thomastic Infeld sets are balanced tension, or really close, and those are my favorite strings ever. I built Daddario sets for balanced tension after getting TI's.
I took Sheldon's advice, even though his suggestion was so close to a CK set. Honestly, the difference is probably negligible.
TI has tension information listed on the site. The Acoustic Bass strings are fairly balanced. The Jazz E-Bass strings gradually increase, but are close enough to balanced (and would certainly feel balanced on a multiscale) to argue that they are. The Infeld Bass and Power Bass are your typical unbalanced sets.

You're probably right that the difference is negligible. However, not having to piece together sets makes it easier for a lot of Dingwall users, and there may or may not be a price difference when ordering singles vs. the set.
