Clarity in rapping?

The Roots,
Jurassic 5,
Common,
Roots Manuva (though you may struggle with the English accent)
Gym Class Heroes (not really hip hop, but the rapping is very audible)
Mos Def
Rakim
RUN DMC
Saul Williams (more of a Poet, then an MC)
Tribe Called Quest
Talib Kweli
Wordsmith Jones (more of a poetry vibe)
Arrested Development
de la soul

almost forgot Jeru the Damaja

you also forgot...
Kool Moe Dee !!!

The Root's collaboration with John legend, while not rap per se, is just fantastic. Great soul music covers, and great music in general. Highly recommended.

Props for who suggested Sage Francis. GREAT lyricist, great delivery.... "Sea Lion", of my fave hip hop songs, ever.

Also: MF DOOM!!!

Actually, English accents are good. As the English say, they're not accents; they're English. Any one know of any good English rappers, preferably not overly Northern or Cockney? So not The Streets. Apparently Slick Rick has a slight English slant.

Slick Rick was born in England and raised there during his childhood IIRC. Then he moved to the states melding his accents into one unique sound. Plus he kicks major a**. Greatest storyteller in rap...
