I quite like the way the strings seem to match with the polepieces.

Amen! Yes, it's totally subjective, which is what makes it so interesting. One man's treasure is another's trash! Well, not really "trash" if we're talking basses. It's all in the player's fingers, ultimately.

That is one sweet looking bass man. I love the holes in the headstock (words i'd never thought i'd type together
) and that Bass Clef sound hole is just slick.
Now i'll have to say that my all time favorite its an Alfonso Iturra bass, it's on the lowend bass shop as Alfonso Iturra SC Scroll 5 string, beautifull, just beautifull
