So yeah, I was playing along to a mudvayne track my band wants to play and something on my popping finger (middle, to be specific) burst and I bled a bit on the G string. Anyone have a good method for getting blood off of strings? They're d'addario nickel wounds if that means anything. Thanks in advance.

Both those make good sense.
And yes, bloody strings would be cool, but I'm kind of germaphobic when it comes to my bass (even if it is my blood
). And I'm not a total metalhead lol. Oddly enough I play more jazz, and I use the same bass for both. And on the jazz scene I doubt that bloody strings would be appealing

. Also, I used a bit of rubbing alcohol and it worked perfectly. Should this happen again I'll try the soapy water trick. Thanks for the prompt responses.

I think blood is VERY jazz...
In fact it think for jazz it's "blood sweat, and tears"
While Metal is "blood, sweat, and beers"

I've had blood on my strings many a time. Some of it was even mine 
Whatever the case, I find that blood dries up quickly and vibrates off the strings nicely. However, blood does tend to stick to the bass body for a long time. Doesn't seem to mess up the finish though.
