Clicks when editing w/ Audacity

I have done a wee little bit of recording with Audacity, and I've noticed that when I use the envelope and fadeout tools I get a noticeable click at every change I make to a track. Any advice or is this what happens when you're too cheap to buy stuff.

I searched, but was unable to find anything that really suited my question.

You need to read up on transients and trying to edit on the zero line to avoid clicks.
This is why when you watch people edit they zoom up the waveform to see where the transients are.
