5/25/18: I'm starting a build out thread for a Cliff Bordwell custom bass I'm having made. I'd never heard of Bordwell Basses until I saw one up for sale (a rarity) and started researching them. The work looked impeccable, and the designs were simple and elegant. The cost is extremely reasonable and Cliff is great to work with. He is starting my bass now and I'm stoked! Here is a pic of the buckeye burl top wood he selected. It's looking awesome thus far and I will post new pics as Cliff sends them to me. I can't wait to play this thing!! Godspeed to you sir!!
Ahh, you're the lucky one. I saw Cliff post this on Facebook this morning. I love a build thread. I'll continue checking on the progress.
Cliff is great to work with as well as an amazing craftsman, and watching your custom bass take shape from the vision in your head is a very exciting thing!
Mike, I competely agree with you. As I mentioned, I've never played one of his basses, but from everything I've surmised, he has an excellent intuition for his craft.
7/5/18: What, What?!! Look at this sickness coming together! My buddy told me the the wood burl kind of resembles a lion's face, I'll roll with that. The ebony against the buckeye is beautiful. This one isn't even done yet and I'm already plotting out my next Bordwell bass project.
7/12/18: Cliff just sent this one. The buckeye is showing some flame which is rare for it. I'm going to post the specs today if possible. In the meatime, take a look.
That is coming along nicely! Beautiful wood choice, looking forward to seeing the completed bass. Congrats!
Newest pic sent to me from Cliff. The bass is done and ready for shipping on 9/10/18! I can’t wait to play this thing! I’ll post more pics when It comes in.
Cliff gets much love here, though he's been quiet lately. Hopefully he's too busy building to post. Great, helpful guy too.
