Cliff + Flatwounds = Kill 'Em All

Garage Days was good because Metallica didn't write those songs. AND you can hear Jason. He was smart to leave. Justice bass just sucks. The whole album sounds like Lars and James were just jamming riffs together. Cliff wouldn't have allowed it to be so bland. Ironically it was the last decent record. RIP Cliff and Metallica.

I agree 100%, and I'm saddened that Trujillo (another bassist that I have great admiration for) is........

Ah nevermind, don't wanna make the "post-Justice fans" any madder than I may have already, different strokes for different folks.

Oh, BTW after hearing the clip of Cliff, I'm DEFINITELY gonna buy some flatwounds for my RIC. It'll give me a reason to play it more, I'm a 5 string player 99% of the time. And, I know you guys can guess why I bought my first RIC years ago :D. Wish I could find a whine/burgundy (whatever that color was) one just like Cliff had! :bassist:

+1 to all that. There's no reason the bass should be buried especially when you have a million dollar sound team. Guys like us use flats or diferent amps, or whatever we need to be heard in the garage or a club.

Funny thing is Metallica is coming to my town and I want to go! I went on a ticketmaster pre-sale and the floor was ALREADY sold out! Paying $75++ to sit far away deters me from corporate rock.

Nice to know I'm not the only one disappointed in Metallica for the last 20 years. I didn't say it but I think Cliff is using rounds also, all the time. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was into rounds. I'll just never forget being a kid in high school and buying "Kill 'Em All" on a whim because they were so ugly and had the most brutal song titles. "Anesthesia" was AMAZING. I was already playing my Ibanez Super Metal pedal with my brand new Ibanez Blazer Bass, even though it was for my Les Paul. Cliff just understood! I thought it sounded like "some kind of monster". Sorry had to. Too bad those coked up jackasses some kind of SUCK. Trujillo is a great player, but just wrong in Metallica. Too bad they didn't use Jason the right way. Jason by far was the coolest dude. "Chop your breakfast on a mirror" and then stare at yourself like Kirk Hammett. Jesus, I get angry just hearing him speak...same for Rockabilly Jamz and the uber cultured Larz...Dude from Happy Gilmore in background: "JACKASS!"
