Clipping toggle switch mod questions

If I wire an On/Off/On DPDT toggle selector (with LEDs on one side & nothing on the other) to diodes on a PCB instead of removing them, will I end up with
On(nothing)/Off(stock diodes)/On(LEDs)

or will I get

On/(stock diodes)/Off(stock diodes)/On(diodes & LEDs)?

Does that question make sense?
 
I would put the stock diodes on one side (on), led on the other side (on), and then wire the middle two lugs of the switch to the board where the diodes were originally. This will give you stock(up)/none(middle)/leds(down).
 
That's the plan, Gero.

At first I bought all the pieces to do the LED/diode/MOSFET mod, but a bag of stuff was thrown away at our studio & it contained all the oarts I had bought to do that. Since I'd have to reorder the MOSFETs I'll skip them. Stock sound cool, LEDs are what I know I want to be an option, & I don't care enough to wait on & pay for MOSFETs. No diodes may sound cool; a boost type of option will be cool, since removing these will give a noticeable volume increase, I believe.
 
Yeah, I figured. I've used no diodes in a tubescreamer clone. It kinda surprised me at first how much gain there was already in the circuit. Between no diodes and the Ruetz mod, I'd say that there's a larger gain decrease doing the Ruetz mod than using no diodes. Again, seems counterintuitive to me hahaha
