Yeah, that's the thing, I had a magnetic pickup on mine which you couldn't miss. He's a damn good mime though.

I use two. An Underwood piezo for the nature sound and a Pierre Josephs String Charger magnetic for the effects.

That's the one I have too, the String Charger, I also used a piezo under the neck for the slap.
