Club Bordwell Part 4

Could you not have an approximation of a P pickup put into the pickup shell? There's enough room to get close to a P pickup layout, no?
It would need to be a little larger, but regardless, I don't plan on selling my two P basses from Cliff :) so I'm happy the way things turned out.

My CB bass on order will be a passive jazz. So I'll end up with 2 jazz and 2 P bass from Cliff in the end. Pretty standard after all of the wild ideas I had him build me in the past. Lol

Welp, y'all are pretty convincing. I have an email out to Cliff about adding a second pickup + switching for both. Still passive. I currently have on order a dual coil (BigRig) in the MM position, and thinking I'll get him to add one flush with it towards the neck. Then perhaps get them both moved back to be centered at the MM position for more bridge burp. Or keep them centered where they are for more bass thump.

My current #1 is a fretless jazz, so I kind of have the burp covered there.

Will see if I stick with BigRigs or not given their need for exact string spacing. (And whether or not he's ordered it yet).

The fun continues.

Well it's not too late which is great. But he suggested standard position so I think I'll drop my desire to be different, and go BigRigs front and back still passive. Should offer versatility while still keeping things simple.

Thanks all!

Standard position will always help with resale too, you never know you might grow out of the bass and trade it for another CB order years from now.

I've recently emailed Cliff about something similar, ordering a pair of basses as one passive P bass config, one passive J bass config, both D shapes and keeping it "simple." I'm thiiiiiiiiiiis close to pulling the trigger and placing the deposit. I'd have a 15 month wait which should feel quick compared to my CT wait haha!

You know, after getting to know you I think you're a really nice guy. I think you deserve two new CB basses. :D

Go for it!
