Close. I have a new VF4 template though that would have helped. Could have been a little less red too. Oh well.

That is AMAZING how close the mock up is to the original.

I wouldn't sweat the shade of red too much because that photo is a bit washed out. With different lighting and photography, they might be even closer. Wow, well done.

Does anyone here have experience with a bn5-24? does it change the slap tone drasticly?
Thank you
Thumpbass
I e-mailed George recently about this. He said the more frets you add
the "thinner" the sound gets. I think that's why the BN6 comes standard
with 24 frets, to make up for all the added wood mass. Also know that
the body shape changes with 24 frets as well. He shortens the body to
make the upper fret access easier.
In the end a bass with more frets has less wood and more metal on it.
Less wood to allow fret access and more metal for the strings to come
in contact with. I think the overall sound is a little more zingy and less
vintage like. That's why most vintage style basses only have 20-22 frets.

VF4 Completed! I should have it in my hands by Tuesday.

) Congrats Bass Junkie, that is AMAZING!
This will serve as a great reference for when I finally order my fiesta red VF5. (pesky recession!)
The vintage neck tint is something I didn't think of. Is the neck gloss nitro too?
I'd really like to see some more hi-res photos HINT HINT
Seeing these pics make me seriously consider selling one of my basses to speed up the process...

That looks like F Bass Per-F-ection to me.Finally, my VF5 and BN5 are here to join my F Bass family. Thank you Donovan and George!!!
