I definitely wanted a “vintage” look but I feel with the transparent finish and the Birdseye board it’s a nice combination of modern and vintage. Best of both worlds!

Thanks man! I’m a big Fbass fanboy so I’m gonna be biased, but I honestly feel Fbass are the reigning kings of fretless with their AC models, and my personal opinion is the VF series and Alleva Coppolo’s are the reigning kings of “boutique-vintage-fender style-imitation-instruments.”
Both companies nail the sound and vintage vibe perfectly with Coppolo’s feeling more traditional and “warn in” and VF’s being more
ergonomically comfortable in a more
modern way.
Definitely gonna get and need a BN down the road to complete the stable!
I'm totally with you, my man! I knew these were amazing basses, but I wasn't prepared for how amazing they are! I'm completely obsessed with FBass now, and it's gonna cost me...LOL! I want the same setup I have with my current basses, which is a fretted 4, two fretted 5's, and a fretless 5. I've got my BN5, I just ordered a second BN5 AND spec'd out a BNF5. After seeing your beauty, now I think a VF4/PJ would be the perfect finishing touch! I can do this and NOT interfere with my Dingwall order, but it's gonna take a serious commitment and laser focus from me to pull this off. Still, I get bummed when I hafta pick up another bass besides my BN5, so I feel like I gotta do this....

Sweet!! That bass is stunning! I'm sure you feel much better now that the waiting is over.
I talked to Marcel a couple weeks ago to see how my build is coming along......they haven't even started yet!
I guess I'll have to live vicariously through your happiness of having your new beauty.
I feel for you. My build was fully paid by the end of September at which time their focus was on NAMM builds; they began construction in January; now it’s held up for the arrival of a custom 6-string bent plate. Afterward, it goes to the paint room. It’s been a long wait but it will be worth it.
Wonder what would happen if these boutique shops would incorporate some sort of “rush fee” system. It would have to be an outrageous amount, like easily another several G’s, but it gets the build pushed to the front of the production line! haha
Dude honestly man I wish I had words of comfort for you but the wait is brutal.
Towards the end when I knew the bass was ready and I really didn’t want to bug Marcel or George anymore, I just wanted to SEE how the bass LOOKS. That’s it. 10 months have passed and I didn’t get any production pics aside from a single neck pic. I just wanted to see how to the build turned out.
During the last several days I would literally refresh my email every hour to see if Marcel sent anything. And finally he did!
I wouldn't mind receiving it earlier, but that would put it far beyond my price range. The other side of that issue would be our jobs always getting pushed back.
It would seem to me that people ordering custom instruments would be so nerotic and impatient, especially on a 9-10-11 month wait. I definitely am. Charging an ungodly amount for a “rush fee” would seem like a great way to make a butt load more money...
but heck. I have no clue what I’m talking about
You've been waiting quite a while for that bent plate. If not for that, yours would have been done by now for sure.
At least there's comfort in the fact that yours will be one of a kind...or at least the first of it's kind.
