It is simply wow! The clarity of the fundamental note combined with the cutting treble potential is amazing. The passive tone alone is simply excellent.

After having owned several maple and rosewood fret boarded basses, the Morado board is a new favourite. Very balanced and punchy tone and the PJ pickup config suits it perfectly.

I'm quickly getting used to the 'flatter than normal' fretboard radius and the 19mm string spacing. The bass came with a super nice setup and and very low action that is unlike any of my other basses. Going back and picking up my usual player felt like picking up a boat anchor...

There's no going back now! Can I have a number please? :)

Hey Ben - welcome to the Sadowsky family and great to see you up in this neck of the woods. Glad to hear you like the setup - had my Tech go over it and tweak it just before shipping it to you. Using these basses "live" is where you really appreciate them and makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

During the 1st set I wore that mask too high on my face and had a hard time seeing the fretboard!! I try not to "cheat" much, but I'm not talented enough to make large position shifts without glancing down, so I missed a few high notes. For the 2nd set I adjusted the mask so I could glance down without leaning forward!

Anyway, I hope someone took Halloween pics of you so you can post 'em. :)

Hey all,
I've had my new MV4 for about 3 weeks now and have done the ubiquitous string change and setup but feel that action for the G string side could still go lower.

I'm to the point that the neck is pretty much straight (too straight) and the bridge is as low as it can go. The problem is (of course) that the notes start to choke and I get buzzing around the 5th fret as usual. I've been setting up bass' for as long as I can remember now so I'm pretty experienced on how to do this and have run into having to shim a neck before. I have to admit though I'm surprised that I have to go this route with the Sadowsky.

So my question is: How many of you Sadowsky players have found to have the same problem? As well, let me know if you've found any better ways to shim the neck than a business card, guitar pick etc...? I'm always looking for new ideas!

P.S. Love the Bass! Looking for a 5 string version now!

I'm sure someone from the shop can handle this issue if you email them - but in advance I will say that Roger & crew take their neck pockets very seriously. That neck is IN there & if you mess with it I suspect you'll be affecting that Sadowsky tone adversely.
This is a pride issue w/Sadowsky basses & can't imagine a problem that can't be addressed otherwise than with a shim.

You must be talking about the one at Gelb Music. I was searching online for one, and came across that one. Just my opinion, but that is the strangest grain pattern I've ever see from a piece of ash. I'm kind of surprised they didn't make that one a solid finish. Then again, in time, I'm sure it would grow on me.:D
