I'm trying to think, but nothing happens! :p

Now, what do I have to part with? GK 700RBII, Fender MIM PJ4, .....scratching head....I'm just a little short.

24-fret P/J - one of the great flavors of our time!

Yes indeed- I could wax all rhapsody-like about the features of this bass, but when it's all said and done, I pulled the trigger sight unseen on this beauty. I've recently converted to ash/maple builds, because I like how they sound in the mix. This bass willl cover a lot of ground sonically, and look stage-worthy to boot. Overslept this morning (late jam night at Jack's Joint in Clearwater), so going to NY tomorrow morning to pick it up. Unless I oversleep again!

I own a few acoustic guitars, along with a couple I made, as well as a banjo and a couple of mandolins. I do not own any of my own electric guitars or basses.

Roger

Interesting. I'd have thunk you'd own at least one of the archtops. I guess you see the axes differently than we do.

I spoke to Robert Godin briefly at a talk he was giving here around the time they were introducing their Passion series guitars and the 5th Avenue archtops. He's a man who is totally passionate about what he does, but I wanted to ask if he had a real favourite in the product line or had a guitar of his own. I'm always interested to know stuff like that. Uh, I was too shy to ask him, though...

I'm going to guess *ZERO*.

My gut on this is he's really a guitar player at heart (so he might have one or more of those) and not much into playing/owning a bass himself.

EDIT: Too late, he already answered, but I'm still posting on my supposition of where his satisfaction really comes from. :)

Yeah, I wasn't really expecting him to own one of the basses, but I'd thought maybe a guitar. Turns out you're right, though. Heh, as we can both see...
