Damn you people...all these incredible looking basses that are finding homes and spec's that are being built are pushing my GAS FACTOR way over the top.

I agree! I'm away from home and I sure wish I coud have another Sadowsky to keep me company instead of my Fender MIM.
I am considerably less proud of that clam-ridden performance, but glad you liked it!
Thanks for the positive feedback, y'all! Hoping for some really great gigs to come with this band! This music is much more fun to play than Top-40.

Not that long ago I would have been going after an alder/RW bass. But after acquiring an Ash/Maple Fender P-Bass in the last 6 months and really liking how it sounded with the band. I'm really looking forward to here the PJ Ash/Maple in the mix.
So, I was looking at the Photobucket pages of the new master grade tops, and I have to ask a question:
Roger, how many of your instruments do you actually *own?* If I worked at the shop, I'd have a hard time not owning uh... some. The temptation *has* to be heavy sometimes...

I own a few acoustic guitars, along with a couple I made, as well as a banjo and a couple of mandolins. I do not own any of my own electric guitars or basses.

I'm going to guess *ZERO*.
My gut on this is he's really a guitar player at heart (so he might have one or more of those) and not much into playing/owning a bass himself. I'm guessing he draws the most satisfaction by batting at such a high average with massively discerning players all the way to the highest level of ability, and getting their unsolicited elated feedback on a regular basis.
EDIT: Too late, he already answered, but I'm still posting on my supposition of where his satisfaction really comes from.

My satisfaction comes from making all of you happy, reading all the great emails you send and seeing your posts on Talkbass. I also get lots of satisfaction from teasing BluesyCat
