Club Sadowsky!!!

WOW Man, I don't think I have ever seen a Sadowsky with a top route!
Yeah you have. All the Vintage models (and I believe any model with a pickguard) will have top and back routes... basically a big hole in the body that the control plate (or guard) covers on the front and the main electronics cover covers on the back.

ohh, for some reason I thought Sadowsky's were only back routed.

Alexander, yeah that's right. It will have a Tort guard but also a clear one for a change of clothes (and so that I am not held criminally responsible for covering up this piece of timber - haha!)

Sweet bass, man - congrats. Have you thought about doing a parchment guard? I like the contrast of a plain PG against a nice top - would make it really pop. What kind of fingerboard are you planning to go with? I'd have to do Braz RW. Can you post pics of that bass when finished? Absolutely beautiful!

Hey, thanks. I will surely put up a pic when it is finished. The board is Amazon with a sweet grain. Here is a pic of the raw board.

I have 3 really nice 5 string basses...all I've played, since the mid 90's is 5 strings...

Ran into an old friend today and told him that I'm considering buying a 4 string (considering a Sadowsky) but my concern is that I'd miss the B string and wouldn't play it that much (so why pay so much $$$)

Anyway...he insisted that I take home his 2005 Metro to play for a week or so...and after the first hour (til my son came home) I was FLOORED by the difference in the sound and response from the preamp...

Playability is nice...build quality, etc....all what you'd expect from an instrument in that price range...but the SOUND!!!!

My mouth is watering...
