I would assume black and bare go to ground, white to signal?

Yeah, you just have to replace the pot. It's that simple.Just got my first Sadowsky M5. The VTC knob on the shaft slides right out of the pot. Knob is attached. The whole shaft slides right out. So is the whole pot shot and needs to be replaced? What hold's the push/pull shaft in place?
Take it to a local shop. They should be able to do it for a BARE minimum charge. Or, if you have a friend who is good with one. Simple job. Truly.Aww shoot. I'm not super experienced with a soldering iron.
heck, I might even try some hum cancelers in there at some point.
First Ken with a P Bass.......Now, Vic with Hum Cancelers? I can't handle it......
HAPPY EASTER!

Sorry, I was hoping at least one of the (albeit kinda' crappy) gig pics might have made it up to facebook, but maybe they weren't good enough. Dunno, I'll check. Anyway, gotta' bolt up to in-laws for Easter, so still no carpet shots. I'll try again later if I get back home early enough. Super busy weekend.
But the bass absolutely killed... I mean killed. The growl and focus were great, the B string was strong and clear but balanced with the rest, and the added sizzle/snap of the ebony was exactly what I was looking for on this. At one point, the guitar player went over to my side of the stage and just stood there for a bit during one of our Journey tunes... he had this huge grin on his face and mouthed the words "oh yeah".
Bottom line, WIN! The "bad news" to Roger and the rest of his amazing crew is, I'm done buying Sadowsky basses. I do not need anything more at this point between the straight MV5 (4098) and the new one with a bit more of a modern thing going on... heck, I might even try some hum cancelers in there at some point.
Anyway, one happy camper here.![]()
