It´s been two month now that my sadowsky nyc standard 4 has been arrived. This is the bass I`ve been dreaming of for many years. Thanks Roger for this wonderful bass!

Has anyone put Nordstrand 70's wind pickups on a Sadowsky with 60's location bridge (e.g. MV5, RV5)? Is that a sane thing to do? I had an amazing experience playing a UV70 (70's bridge) with Nordstrand NJ5's (70's wind). Wondering if I would achieve a similar effect with the same pickups on an RV5.

Quick question guys and gals (just making sure i'm not going crazy): If your finger touches one of the exposed pickup poles, does it make a grounding buzz? Just changed the output jack a few weeks ago and for the life of me I can't remember if it did that before (though I'm guessing it didn't cause that would have bugged me). Everything else works fine, that's the only noticeable hiccup.

No, those are not my actual Settings. I still try out very differnt settings. I´m very impressed by the flexibility of sounds you can produce on this bass. I think there is not only one Holy Grail setting, but there are many great settings for very different sounds.

Hi: That's exactly the sound I'm going for. I already have a NYC Jazz w/ single coils, but my sonic journey takes me to low, fat, with decent top end.

I just wish they would allow this configuration to be made in a Metro, I would order one immediately,
but don't want the "modern" positions. Yeah, I know, limited models offered to keep price affordable, but one could wish (especially since the NYC Will Lee also can be ordered with soaps and 60's positions)

I bought a used Metro RV5, right here on TB, and put Schallers on it with the supplied screws. The button at the bridge stays tight, but the one on the upper horn tends to come loose. I just make sure to check it often (I put a good number of hours on that bass), and I've put a few pieces of flat toothpick in the hole. Didn't bother with glue.

You can have the Sadowsky shop swap on the Dunlops for a small charge.

As Ewo noted, the design of the Schallers mean that they can work themselves loose. If the strap portion rotates just right, they can also come off. And, the Schaller buttons won't hold a strap very well, if your forget your strap with the locks on it.

I much prefer the Dunlops.
