Thanks for that. The new design is way better than the original; it eliminates most of the pain points.
That’s great, but does not address the main issue I had with them.
My main issue was that the cup channel on the strap tended to bind with the button on the instrument, causing the wood screw to work loose; and in worst cases to actually strip out the tapped hole in the body. And, some did it worse than others. I suppose some kind of lubricant MIGHT address that issue; but, I just decided they weren’t worth the hassle, and went back to normal buttons. I’m too old to jump around any more anyhow.
In any case, this new design doesn’t appear to address my issue. I’ve got a whole drawer full of the older design just sitting there.

That, and I would hate to use the Schaller button with an unlocked strap. But the new design is significantly better, so I gave credit where due.

Every bass and guitar I use the Schallers with (which is all of them) I always put a drop or two of wood glue in the hole before screwing the peg in. Never in 30+ years have I had a screw come loose.

Dunlop Dual Design are the only strap locks for me ;-)

Well, the big picture is that this discussion isn't really about strap locks per se; it's that we all appreciate Sadowsky & Co. for their attention to detail, and providing highest-quality basses -- which happen to feature the highest quality strap locks.
Edit: of course folks should go with whatever they prefer!
Everytime I strap a Sadowsky on, it’s that much easier to lock into the groove.

How do you like the Zen Blades with the Sadowsky Preamp? I’ve been pretty curious about that combo.
I like the tone of the blades and they are really high output making a challenge to swap basses live without some amp wrangling. Since I am not gigging ATM this doesn't present a challenge....
