Will the Super P and Super J be available in any other line? Or will those only be NYC custom shop?

Starting the New Year off right!
I can say only the best about Okoume wood... Light, resonant and very colourful sound.
I'm saving up for a super PJ. That to me would be my everything for all tonal options. The second I saw @Kevan Campbell bass with all the super P coil options I knew that would be my lifetime build. Hopefully can make that happen sooner than later. The only hard decision on it is if I build it as a 4 or 5 string. I played 5 string for 20 years and switched back to 4 a little over a year ago and my I've become a much better player. Not sure I'll go back to a 5 yet.
So tell us Joeykun, it’s hard to tell, which basses do you like???
There have been several questions about the Sadowsky Japanese Production. Here goes...
The MetroLine and MetroExpress production has been officially ended. All remaining MetroExpress orders will be delivered by end of March. All remaining MetroLine orders will be delivered by end of May.
I want to be clear that I hold Yoshi Kikuchi in the highest admiration for his incredible supervision of my Japan production for the last 17 years. My reason for moving on to Warwick has nothing to do with any issues with the Japan production. It was primarily based on the fact that Warwick already has a worldwide distribution network established. In addition, their manufacturing facilities are the most modern and impressive of any factory I have seen in the US, Korea or Japan. I am convinced that the new relationship with Warwick will produce amazing Sadowsky instruments and make them available all over the world with price points and features that should appeal to everyone.
I appreciate how supportive all of you on Club Sadowsky have been regarding this next era for Sadowsky Guitars. And remember, Sadowsky NYC will remain the premier custom shop for all things Sadowsky!

Interesting. I've done the same thing. Switching to a 4 really shook up my playing and got me past a plateau I feel I'm a much better player. My 5 string still feels like home though.

If customs are to be the priority of the NYC shop, do you think a 6-string bass could be introduced into the lineup? I’d go for a Sadowsky custom if a 6-string will become possible.
If this will not be the case, I’m aware we can no longer request made-to-order Satin Series... So, are you aware if any of those coming in the future will be in the configuration of Modern 5/24, Ash body/Maple fingerboard, finished in Sage Green Metallic?

I got past a major plateau. My issue is that my technique has changed so much that picking up a 5 seems so foreign to me now. I'm sure I could get right back to things but I just love my 4 string Sadowsky's over anything else I own.
Hello Roger @Sadowsky, Happy New Year! I have two more questions about the new production:
- Electronics in MetroExpress - what will be the difference in preamp and pickups between ME and Germany produced basses, if any?
- Neck profile - I tried ME five string couple of months ago and in direct A/B it seemed to have the same neck profile/thickness as my NYC 2006 fiver and also as the Satin 5 I had for trying too at that moment. I remember my former Metro MS5 had slightly thicker neck profile. We discussed it here already in spring 2019 and it seems the consensus was that NYC and ME lines had one neck profile and Metro line had another neck profile, slightly thicker (talking about five string necks only).
What will be the situation now? Exactly the same profile for NYC/Germany/China made five string necks or any difference between the lines as it was in case of Metro line before?

Get one of each!!! I will say that my Super PJ has essentially ruined me for not just all other basses but almost any other Sadowsky as well. I have two other build specs that I’m going to take to the NYC shop a few weeks after NAMM to start on my next build, but I find myself reworking them to include another Super PJ set in.
4 vs 5 is a tough call! I was a 4-string guy for 12 years before making the jump into a 5-string (an old Carvin LB75 at that time) and now I can’t imagine playing ANY 4-string, not even a Sadowsky, unless at such a high-profile gig that I couldn’t say no to and which stipulated such (I’m thinking a national touring act, not my town’s top cover band). I will say that there’s definitely a cool “old school” vibe when playing 4’s and I still own a couple of 4-string Fenders, but for every show I play I’m taking my Sadowsky 5’s out or in rare instances my Warwick Star Bass 5 as the low B has become essential to my playing style and comfort.
By the way, has anyone ever figured out the plural to multiple Sadowsky basses?! Sadowskys, Sadowskies, Sadowski...?

I think the plural would be the word “Broke”. But then again I have a NYC Vintage 4, 2 NYC Vintage 5’s and a fourth NYC being built.

So, what is it about a (new) NYC Custom that compels YOU to pay the premium it carries? Is the build quality alone worth it?
