The hottest Sadowsky I ever had was an early Japanese MV5. You could barely get past 25%. My newer NYC appears to have less juice.

I no longer have my BN5 (it was too heavy) and my VF5 PJ is fully passive, so I forgot about those guys.

Question for the group - I have a Metro/Japan J/J 5 with humcanceling PUs, and would like to replace with single coils. Is there anywhere I can buy a new set of Roger's SC pickups that he uses for the NYC models? Everything I see online looks like the new German ones that I think are made for the narrower 18mm spacing.

Looks like there aren't any PUs on the "online store" part of the Sadowsky site.

I can always troll TB classifieds and Reverb, but wondering if there's a faster way.

I hated to list it, it really checks all the boxes, the right neck, the right weight, gorgeous master grade top. I’ve had several of Roger’s creations and this one really stands out above the rest. Unfortunately I have more important medical expenses that take precedence at this point. So someone will end up with a true gem.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I wish the ME's would've kept the other logo so it would be even more differentiated from the NYC's and MIG's.

I think the “made in china” on the back of the headstock will avoid any confusion.

Maybe, and the less than great quality is another differentiating factor. Again, I'm sure I'm in the minority and don't want to insult any of the current ME owners but I just don't feel those instruments are worthy of the Sadowsky name. That's just my opinion and I know plenty will disagree.

Business is business, Roger is a business man and our feelings are not as important as making a profit

Sorry, but I regarding all I seen and read about or from Roger Sadowsky I think that he is mainly a luthier and no businessman
