I have tried a Warwick Sadowsky and the quality of the tuners wasn’t as good as the hipshot tuners Sadowsky have used on their Japanese Metrolines or Metroexpresses. The preamp didn’t seem any different to me. I have owned a few German Warwick basses and they were of excellent quality.

Did that help with any neck dive? And what size fits the Metroline, looks like they come in 3/8 or 1/2"?

It saddens me that a lot of it is ranting rather than constructive criticism. I didn’t like the sound of the SC pickups in my Japanese Will Lee (too many high mids for my taste). I replaced them, but didn’t come here to tell everyone that I think they suck, they just weren’t for me. IMO the only issue with the MIGs that should be addressed is consistency in the quality of the tuners. In all other aspects my MIG is 100% up there with my MIJs (including the preamp). The Japanese Metrolines had a 20 year run, people will eventually get used to the change.

Agree. As a recent purchaser of a German vintage JJ5, I find the tuners to be sub-par. They're heavy and not very smooth. Trying to get my hands on some Hipshot Ultralites which I hope will be a big improvement in both smoothness and alleviating the neck dive.

The rest of the bass is very nice.

People are entitled to their opinions and preferences. I don't see too much ranting going on here in that respect. If people can see areas that could be improved for the price point, they should feel free to point it out (as you yourself have done...)

That is one stunning bass. Pj, maple board. I wonder when they will ship downunder. Would love to know the weight too although one cannot ask for too much in what is supposedly a budget instrument.

Not sure what people can complain about.
Its a budget price so expect budget parts.
The hardware could go more than the retail price so people might need to reset their expectations as to quality.
If you can live with that, you'll stick with it, if not, you need to consider spending more.

But you can't expect someone to make to budget and not make it for profit.

budget parts? String tree, tuners, neck screws and bridge are the same as the German metrolines.

Well, for the most part, caveat being the bridge. Though I'm not certain of the differences at this point, the MetroExpress basses do have a different bridge on them. I'd assume different materials - steel vs. brass - maybe? Not sure yet, but they're different.

5-string bridges for example -

Metroline and up bridge: Sadowsky Parts - Quick Release Bridge - 19 mm - 5 String

MetroExpress bridge: Sadowsky Parts - MetroExpress Quick Release Bridge - 5 String
