Club Sadowsky!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROGER!! ❤️

Thank you both - I ordered July 2022, so that could mean I have anywhere from 2 to 8 months left … no fancy inlays for me, but fingers crossed it’s sooner than later!
Yeah, i got a pretty normal body (bass, in person mine is awesome :D), but blinged out the neck (roasted mastergrade flame maple neck, master grade brazilian ‘board, pearl inlay, luminlay side dots)… yolo! ;)

Ha!

I got most of the same options … master grade BRW fingerboard, master grade roasted flame neck, large luminlay side dots… except I got clay face dots … also got roasted swamp ash body and shell pink nitro finish … and the Will Lee preamp with single/dual coil switch.

On to of that, I’m a lefty.

YOLO, indeed!

:D

Just joined the club! Picked this up at a decent price and my first Sadowsky! 2020 JJ Metroline Germany. Plays great and in excellent condition with the gig bag and all the papers. Preamp sounds excellent. Love the tone I can get on this, and actually like the blend split 50/50 between both pickups, and no hum so far as I can tell. And this looks killer, I love the color on it.

After a brief tuning and play through, neck feels great, will take some getting used to from my slender Schecter 5 string, but feels more at home like my standard 4 string P Bass.

Needs a setup. The B string has some awful buzz when played open, and it also isn't tapered, so doesn't sit flush in the saddle on the bridge, but does sit flush on the nut. No other string buzzes when played open only the B. Might try to raise that side on the adjust-a-nut.

Most every string also buzzes when played above the 14th fret. I think this can be remedied by raising the saddles. Neck seems relatively straight.

Will attempt a proper set up when I get new Sadowsky Blue Label Nickels this weekend. Got both the .40-.125T and .45-130T sets so I can try them both. Most curious how the lighter gauge will feel, as long as the B isn't too floppy.

Let The bass aclimate to your place a few days before adjusting the neck

Fingerboard dots? Clay vs MOP? I just got an email from the shop to confirm my choice, which I’m 99% on clay, on a Brazilian RW ‘board with the pearl skyline at the 12th fret (and luminlays on the side), but am I wrong? Pics of your dots on a dark fingerboard please!!!

This was all I could find on the Sadowky site with an inlay

Tough choice, but I kind of feel like Pearl dots would harmonize with the Pearl skyline inlay better, tbh.

You could always get luminlay face dots too.

I'd go with no dots - it just looks so sleek IMO.

And my old 25th Anniversary (which I foolishly sold and would love to get back), which also had MOP dots on an ebony board:

MOP for sure. With a deluxe skyline, I think you’d regret not reinforcing that high-end touch with MOP. I even went with MOP on my maple fingerboard 2019 NYC custom.
