I've had this one about 6 mos. and I am blown away every time I play it, especially at live performances. I play a couple other Sadoowsky basses but I really think this instrument is by FAR the most articulate and stands out in any kind of instrument mix. Even playing with B-3 players, this bass retains its solid, rich tone,doesn't become muddled and stands out. (like no other bass I've ever played). It stands up to loud horn sections and does everything I need it to do with ease. This one is alder/RW and has a very deep, rich tone. Ever been hit in the chest with a 50 pound block of chocolate??? Play one of these.

That's gonna' be real aggressive in the mids with the ash body and maple neck, and the ebony board is gonna' add a sizzle/ping way up high. It should have a bit more of a modern sound, especially when slapping, particularly bright, but not quite as aggressive in the "low treble" range where maple is a bit stronger. I'd imagine using the VTC a lot more on it vs a maple or morado boarded bass especially for fingerstyle... prolly have a lot more "click" to the sound.

played outdoors last night at this charity biker event large production mobile stage and the front of house eng. comes back stage after the first set and says man that bass bass rig sounds awesome, i mean this dude is just popping off about how good the bass tone is keep that rig don't touch anything. I say its not the rig its the Sadowsky bass. I was sending him a large dose of Sadowsky ash/maple with single coils goodness through a countryman DI. I told him again i have thank Roger Sadowsky.

sok, that's an insanely great looking bass, and I KNOW that thing has to sound amazing!!!

Man, I gotta' say, especially after playing my Metro version of what you have here this morning in the in-ear (all DI/Aviom) church, I know exactly why the guy was drooling over the tone. Today was a special treat, as today's service was comprised of some insanely great players, and the worship leader took advantage of that and selected some particularly rockin' songs... even featured the band on one. This particular drummer and I have always had an immediate musical bond, too... it's like we think of the same things at the same times, and we're so tight it sounds like his bass drum is hitting my bass strings. This morning was something I won't soon forget. :)

Thats awesome , I have that same drummer at Church , we have been playing together for 4 years now at Church and in town in original projects , it so cool to have that tight rhythmic relationship when neither guy even has to think about the other , it is all instinct , I knew it the first time we played with each other , he also loves it when I play my trusty 1999 standard 5 ( Sadowsky ) we also use a high end in ear system and are wireless , it is fun to walk out into the seats at rehearsal and hear that bass cranking thru that sound system ( taking the ears out ) the sound guy loves that bass too , lucky to have that bass for sure ,

Thats a cool story. There is just some drummers and bass players that just gel. Thats so awesome when that happens. There is one drummer that I play with that is just so fluid and grooves. It just feels so effortless to play with him. everytime I look @ him he is smiling from ear to ear. He just loves it and it shows in his playing. He is only 23 years old but plays like a very seasoned pro. He is just so natural. Glad you love your Metro. I will let you know how I like mine this week. We have band practice tuesday night. I am gonna grab it from the Fed Ex guy and head straight to practice.

My NYC Bass isnt ready. Probably gonna be January before I get it. (I keep adding to it and pushing back the completion time.) I just couldnt wait any longer and bought a used UV-70 5-string Metro. It is Ash/Morado with SC's. I am hoping it will make my long wait feel a lot shorter.
