+1, it looks killer, well played but not abused.
Regarding the pots, I love that config. I'm not a big fan of concentric knobs. If mine were a straight P I'd use that same config; IMO 5 pots would take too much away from the classic P look.
If we can get a finish like that - aged nitro with checking - I wonder if it would be possible to get the same finish, but without the nicks, dings, 'wear' and checking.... In other words: What about a nitro finished Sadowsky.........?

That IS a piece of master grade brazilian on Rickey's bass.

Well, I almost expected that. I had a conversation with Kevin regarding finish options (a couple of years ago, before ordering my NYC 5-string lefty), and he wrote that it was just too much trouble dealing with nitro finishes. But I guess the demand would be pretty high... Anyway, thanks a lot for you answer!
BTW: I gigged with my P/J lefty (No 5454) for the first time, recently. The sound guy made some not too friendly comments on my 'Fender ripoff', but after we started soundcheck, his expression changed quite a lot... Feels like that bass makes my bandmates almost as happy as me...
Just making sure I wasn't missing something! I am excited to be getting one of your basses on Friday! Metro, but it's a start!
Oh, Metros are MUCH more than just a start! Mine serve me VERY well on a very regular basis!

Nothing "downgraded" about a Metro, IMO, other than less choice in colors and woods.
If you don't need something outside what's standard for the Metro line, they're great basses.
