Club Sandberg (part 2)

All sig models have a slightly different pick up placement compared to say a standard TT even if it’s a few millimetres , for example the DK bridge pick up is closer to the bridge similar to the 70s position so a little more ‘bark’

Probably the new ones. I love that relic’d yellow finish and maple neck with perl inlays. I had a Fender Marcus Miller with a similar neck which was great. Unfortunately it weighed over 10lbs so had to go!

I think it’s the slightly narrower DK neck that I like. I usually prefer maple necks but the DK has made me think again. Also love the fact that it doesn’t matter if you scratch it. Just makes the relic’ing more personal. I hate scratching my other basses.

I think it’s time to thank Ewan aka cuzzie for letting me have Jon Snow. Ewan knew that I was also interested in that bass when it came up for sale on EBay about 18 months or so ago but I backed out as he was first to bid. Well, he offered to me and it took a while to sort things out my end but we got there and I had the pleasure of meeting the man face to face which was a bonus. Win win, great guy, great bass....
Anyway, yet another addition, not really needed but wanted. Not much more to say except I’m happy to have it, it plays and sounds great... just a bit worried I might scratch it!
Without further ado, here a quick group shot... most of my gear is in hiding due to house renovations but here you go......

You definitely need to tray and feel one of them, I would recommend Masterpiece if You are lucky enough to found one in the store.

Hi Obrad,

sorry, that I´m going to correct you.
The roasting of wood happens under vacuum. So the humidity that comes out during roasting, goes back into the wood after the roasting process. So no weight loss happens throught roasting. We use this process to change the wood structure and simulate aging of the wood to gain the sound of old instruments.

The California series has got a standard weight of 8-9 lbs in average.

Hi Cuzzie,

that´s right, standard on old TSBS were the Seymour Duncans. Now standard are our alnico5 single-coils, not the black labels. But you can still choose the Seymour Duncans without any upcharge.

nice to hear from You. I always thought that roasting process make wood lighter next to change the sound.
