Update, for those interested in this kind of thing.

Well, it seems that no, the MM pickup is on teh same spot in the TM4 and VM4.

I seem to remember measuring mine (when I had them) and the VM4's MM was closer to the bridge. California 1's though.

Little risk if any at all, but you may need a slight tightening of the truss rod to compensate for higher string tension.

I will respectfully disagree with my esteemed colleague @Cuzzie and say that Labella strings are the finest that money can buy .

I am going to say that Labella, DR and TI are a photo finish

Regarding my sweet red VM4 (which is up for trade btw): if I decide to keep it, is there a way to wire up the bridge humbucker to be able to split the coils, like my TM4? If possible, what does something like that entail?

Congrats! How’s the tone and feel?

I think it needs a proper setup now but overall it feels so comfortable the neck. And the tone is something I am looking for in slapping style. Not bright as maple f/b does, a little milder in taste but I like it so much. I used to own modern bass like musicman bongo and dingwall. It is always good to go back passive and vintage sounding bass like this masterpiece does.

I just wonder instead of vol-vol-tone they chose to use vol-pan-tone. I have no preference though.

These are stock Black Label pickups. Actually I would like to try other pickups on it such as aero jb pickups.

Would like to ask one question: what polish should I use for my Masterpiece bass? Or just normal polish will do the work?

Well i think the sound is nice but I have to say the noise when panning to either pickups is quite annoying..

This is really strange cause black labels are humcancelling.

Oh really!? Then something went wrong here maybe..
The noise comes out when panning if Tone is on highest degree.. So is this normal?

The usual stock pickups on a passive TT's are Sandberg Alnico 5's (my favourite jazz pickup ever).

Were you told specifically they were Black Labels? The statement that you have single coil hum would point towards the single coil Sandberg A5's.
