After some running around, I found a local luthier and left it with him to be fixed.
Anyway, I’d love to hear your input on the electronics issues… hope it all works out and I can join the club.![]()
If the luthier was involved with the replaced pre-amp parts, and he said it was repaired, he should make good on his work. Have you called him to discuss the problem?
Hey guys. Does anyone have California Masterpiece 5 string passive?
Did you have a chance to compare it to other Sandberg basses, does it have that vintage effect from heat and vibration treatment in tone and feel?I have one of those. 35” scale though, what’s your question?

Wow, great stable! Awesome TT5 masterpiece. Do you feel the difference in feel and tone between their 34” and 35” especially with low B string? I have VM5 and TT5, both 34” scale but for some reason B string on my VM5 feels noticeably tighter and sounds punchier than on my TT5 even unplugged. So it’s not the pickup or active/passive thing. VM5 has pao Ferro fretboard and TT5 has maple one, all the rest things being equal including the same strings sets.I have 7 Sandberg basses and all have vibration treatment. This is the only with thermo treatment but also the only passive, although the other have passive option. There’s so much that differs from the others too so it’s hard to tell what the Thermo treatment does. At least for me. I have another Jazz bass but it’s the older version and it’s a TM… different pick ups too. And the new one has 35” scale.
Sorry for not clearing things up for you but I can tell you that the new one is the absolute best bass I have.

Although I really love this red TT5 I came to understanding that I prefer rosewood necks over maple for various reasons. So I’m going to list this red beauty and stay with my VM5 Nighthawk. Soon in the classifieds…Yesterday bought a scooter to match my tt5 View attachment 4367996

Thanks for the heads up. If it's half as good as my GD it's worth the wait.Good luck!
Bass Central told me that’s the most popular bass they sell and what they’ve got on order is slated for the middle of next year.
They had one marked as “on delivery” for June, but was told that was a mistake and it will be June of 2022.
