That looks ace @TheLopp!! The 48’s are my favourite looking bass but I can’t get on with the ergonomics, the first fret is just too far away for me. If it weren’t the case I’d have a few for sure.
This one is 35” scale as well so it might not be for everyone. But I love it!
Anyone compared a TM2 fiver with the dual humbuckers to a TM5 with single coil/humbucker config?

I always wonder how Pau is on mid to higher end basses. I really dislike the Pau on Fender, which has completely put me off, but I assume that is not how all of it is.
Joined the club after being really interested in Sandberg for a long time. With advancing age and back pain I finally found my white (ok well tobacco burst!) whale - TM5 Superlight. Arrived on Friday and immediately got put to work on 2 gigs over the weekend and all I can say is wow. Warm but punchy, very controlled. I can really dig in and it never gets unwieldy.
After playing this all weekend, picking up my other basses feels like a chore! From a weight perspective I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is the future of basses, just like neo speaker cabs and class D amps have taken over the amplification world.
Someone else made the comment here somewhere that this instrument just gets out of your way so you can focus on nothing else but the music. I couldn't agree more.

Hey there Sandberg owners! I’m looking for someone with experience playing the California central! I’m weighing picking up a central 5 vs. picking up a TM5. I’m wondering if the central has an active/passive switch w passive tone available. Also wondering about the output of the central vs. something like a stingray. Also how quiet low-noise the signal is overall. Also an opinions generally on a central vs. a TM. Thanks!
No experience with TMs but I have experience with Central 4s and Stingrays. The key differences: the Central has passive option with tone roll off, the central is stronger in the mids and weaker in the highs (probably the pickup wired in series and the pickup location slightly closer to the neck have something to do with that), the central has slightly better craftsmanship, the central is slightly kess comfortable when playing seated (sharper contours), the central has slightly hotter output.
As always, try before you buy. They are all different flavors of awesome. One thing is for sure, though. If you want to go for that stingray sound, pickup location is everything. The TM will not get you there

Awesome, great info, thank you! Very promising stuff. If anyone who plays a TM wants to weigh in id be happy to hear. Going to look into the return policy or test period policy of where I’d be ordering from as it’s a few states away.
Have they started making the Central 5 in 34" scale? I probably would have bought one by now if they did.
I don’t think so! Still 35 inch scale, which is a plus for me but I can go either way personally.
Hey all, I just picked up a TT5 Superlight in matte black from the classifieds and I'm in love! The A-string (being furthest from the non-radiused pole height) is a little on the quiet side, but my compressor smooths that out enough for my needs. If I wanted to, though, do the Black Label T pickups support raising/lowering the pole pieces?
I have black label in my VM and I had Delano in the TM I had. I prefer the black label, but obviously a little difficult to compare given the J vs P. Delano pickups to me are a bit too refined. Though the TM still sounded excellent, I’ll eventually get a TT (i always favored playing the TM with the coils split). That said, I’m generally a Bartolini fan, so that probably helps you understand my preferences.
