Club Sandberg (part 2)

Any of you own a TT bass the world model in black?

I love that crispy and crunchy jazz bass sound of the BTW sunburst model, but 3500 euro is way too expensive for me.

That's the sound I love.
There's not much videos to listen to the black BTW bass. Both units comes with Kloppman pickups, but I guess if they sound similar. I don't like much the open matte pore finish of the black model, but is more affordable and could fit to the sound I want. What are the differences beetween both apart from the swamp ash and the finish? They do sound the same?
Do you have played both to compare them?
Thanks

Agree with you on loving that tone @pepito666. Many basses can have excellent ergonomics and a great sound, but IMHO really can't be "a Jazz" (to me) if I don't have the interactivity of two single-coils on a passive VVT circuit.

I'd buy a California TT 5 Passive happily ...but I want black gloss with no aging, and Sandberg isn't offering that finish currently. I don't know why. Oh well.

Any opinions on "which" US Sandberg dealer I should call? I'm mid-Atlantic East Coast. Tks.

I'm in Philly and bought mine from Bass Central in Florida, and would happily go through them if I wanted a custom order. They are a huge Sandberg dealer. (I've also been to their physical store, and it's very cool.)

Chicago Music Exchange is a good option (in Chicago, of course). That's where I found my Ken Taylor on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Just wandering through, killing time when my wife says- "Look at this one". Played it and couldn't put it down and was one of those spontaneous $3000+ purchases (and worth every penny).

Here's a link to the Sandberg stock they have on hand currently.
