Club Sandberg (part 2)

Tone Capsule – Darkglass Electronics

Sandberg use it stock in some models
I was hoping you could help me figure out what I need to buy to have this installed. I've spent a bunch of time on the phone this morning and nobody thinks that it can be configured… Which I know is wrong because you did it.

Anyway, if there is documentation/parts numbers, etc. that you could share, I would really appreciate it

Thanks

It wasn't an easy job, but with a lot of talking to Sandber and the dealer who provided all the parts, I managed to get everything to fit as I wanted.

Hi!

I have a Sandberg JJ5 bass and find the output really quiet, even in active mode. There is basically no difference in output between the active and passive mode. Which is normal with a Glockenklang preamp (I was told). I also used to think that active basses were louder than passive basses. I was suprised that I had to turn my gain really high on my Markbass and the signal still didn't reach the cliping volume. My Fender passive J bass was a bit louder than my Sandberg is.

Do any of you guys owning Sandbergs have the same experience? I mean, that the basses have low output...Or maybe I just have a faulty preamp :(

Anyway...Here's a pic of my bass and amp...Really happy with them both...
I'm also

HAVE SAME ISSUES AND IT'S BRAND NEW. ALSO HAVE TWO OTHER SANDBERGS ...NO PROBLEMS OR ISSUES.

Have same issue. wonder if it's preamp. I have two other sandbergs and no issues at all. It's muddy and I just changed the batter which helps some, but the volume pot had same issue.
hey! shoot me an email - [email protected] will happily get you sorted!

Has anyone taken delivery on a custom order Sandberg recently? How were they on the estimated delivery time? I am currently at about 14.5 months on an initially quoted 15-16 month wait. I am getting antsy (with anticipation)!
I received my custom order last year (late November). Was told 12 months when I placed the order on September 12, 2022. It ended up being 14 months and 1 week when it arrived on my door step. I know what you're going through. BUT.....it was worth the wait.

Hi Marc. I believe that Thomann who I purchased the bass from is working on this. It might have been you I spoke to. So far Thomann is replying to me and looking to get the bass (which I love) fixed. Can I keep you advised? Just sent Thomann a letter requesting new electronics and that I would take to luthier and have him replace same. Thank you and can I call you if I have difficulties. This is my third Sandberg and I love it, just hope to work out this issue.

Hey everyone,

After a long hiatus from playing bass more than now and again, I am back in the seat and in love with playing.

I was contacted by the bass player from JET who asked if I would trade my Gibson Thunderbird for his masterpiece hardcore aged VM4 in creme.

I took the deal! Should be getting the bass in the next day or so. Ordered some Fat Beams for the thing too. I am very excited to get it in my hands.

It has a white pearloid pickguard, anyone know where I can get myself a tortoise shell guard, or black, or custom pickguard? I might just wait till I have it to see if I love it or not.

Attached are some photo's sent to me.

Contact any US Sandberg dealer in your country and they can order pickguards and other parts for you. And, nice bass! I own 3 Masterpiece instruments myself and can say they are the best of the small sample of instruments I've tried. Very even tone across every fret/string.

Sorry...not US...Australian obviously! Unless Sandberg ships direct to Oz. But I think they only ship to EU and UK.

Thanks guys! I reached out to Bass Centre here, helpful on the phone but havent heard back in a day or so. Shipping seems to be over promising and under delivering! Hopefully I can collect tomorrow. I am very eager.

Also, does anyone know what pickups are in this bass? I am guessing just sandberg house pickups? No idea how many types there are.
