Club USA (made) Brubaker!

So I searched and searched and could only find a Brubaker Brute club here on TB. Couldn't find a USA (made) Brubaker club. So here we go!

This is my 25th Anniversary Limited Edition KXB-4 Xtreme. Kevin Brubaker built this particular one for himself. He's had it for the past 5 years, never gigged it. It traveled with him to NAMM as an example of his amazing work. After a lot of arm-twisting, he agreed to sell her to me. Here she is. Let's see your amazing USA Brubaker!

Well, my JXB-4 arrived in time for my gig this past weekend, and I couldn't be more thrilled! I was going to go with a candy apple orange or tangerine finish, but when Kevin showed me the shot with the underlying gold paint, we both really liked that look and decided to keep it golden (Pony Boy!).

This paint really kind of changes shades with different angles/lighting, which is kinda cool. I went with the John East J-Retro preamp, as well as the passive vol/vol/tone module:

We need more Brubaker owners to liven things up.

Picked up this little beauty a few days ago. Went with the passive preamp module. Played at rehearsal and the sound was perfect - articulate with solid lows and smooth highs. Plays easily.

Just snagged this JXB-5, I mostly play Stingrays but this is quickly becoming my favorite. Can't wait to see how it sounds at our gig this coming weekend!

First time playing this out with the band and it sounded great in the mix! This may be my new number one bass, right up there with my Stingray.

That's a great looking NBS! I try to get some good pictures of mine when I get home, I didn't know there was a newer Brubaker club here on TB haha.
I noticed on the Brubaker Instagram earlier this week, pictures of what looked to be NBS' routed for the BOB system, pretty cool that it's branching out to more than just the JXB series now.

NBD! Just picked up my custom JXB 5 P/J from Kevin's shop. I went with a Purple finish, Ebony FB w/ abalone block inlays. They also used abalone for the side dots which was a nice little touch. It's hard to capture the finish with my phone camera, but they had Skeet from PFunk come by and play it before I picked it up and it looks great in the video. That NBS headless is a beautiful instrument. They don’t show it on their website. Wondering how a 5-string version with alder body, maple neck, wenge fingerboard and a pair of Nordstrand PolyVox pickups would sound?
