I've had zero experience with amp heads and cabs- I've only used combo's (and crappy ones at that). I'm basically a bedroom player (re: small combo, with headphones on), but wouldn't mind playing out. With that in mind, I've been thinking about getting a GK MB200. Is it possible to use the amp head without a cab- you know only with headphones on- or will this damage it in some way?

You can use just your headphones. Only tube amps need a cab plugged in.

+1 to using it without a cab, and the GK MB200 is liked by many and should do you well when you add a cab down the road.

I'd suggest a Mb500 ... A bit more versatile and future proof. One thing I have learned the hard way is to try to think ahead a bit when buying gear. Never get just enough because it is pretty much assured that just enough today will turn into not enough tomorrow.
