If your just starting out, this game is very brutal to those who are still using the starter weapons and gear, especially when you go against an entire team of d-bags using the auto shotgun with the explosive frag rounds, Which happens alot. Just keep working through until you get some of the non-crap guns with a decent scope and it gets 100% easier, I swear.

Big +1. Steep learning curve, but very fun rounds when you get in the top 10 or so each fame.
I love sniper rifles. Just counter sniped a guy the other day at 690 meters. Another game I got 7 headshots at 300+.

In smaller maps, ill use a semi auto sniper like an SIS with no scope... beastly, but you better not miss

Lol! I'm definitely one of those douches! Put me in Rush on Op Metro with a supporter layout armed with a MK3A1(?) and I can clear a whole room. And I LOVE getting into a 1 on 1 with snipers and watching them fly off the map when I pump 'em with enough frags, great stuff! Oh yeah, and you think you're gonna nail my entire team in that tiny hallway in 3rd part of that map? I'll sneak up behind your team and lay out about five C4's and blow your asses to smithereens with my auto shotty! LMAO! :hyper:

I love me some BF3!

Since I play on the console (assuming your on PC) getting in the top 10 isn't really that high of a goal... lol!

Nice, I honestly don't play too much Recon, only about 1/6 of the time, but I've recently started falling in love with claymores. Like running up one of the tight staircases in Seine Crossing dropping claymores behind me, watching guys blindly run into them, then re-upping with an ammo pack and doing it again and again. I actually got 2 nemesis pins from one guy by mostly using this tactic alone. Some people really need to learn how to watch their mini-map! :D

Actually, I get my USAS next level, sooooo I might have to try my hand with it before they nerf it in the next patch. :hiding:

And right now I can't really complain too much, many an over confident fragger has met an untimely end at the end of my FAMAS on Metro. :ninja:

Yup, had me manhood claimed a many time at the WORST possible times by dudes with FAMASes; good and extremely accurate gun. I'm becoming a big fan of the L86 in that same assault layout as well.

And what? They're nerfing the frag shotguns?? Bastards!!!:atoz:

-Fixed the Rate of Fire when the USAS and MK3A1 are equipped with FRAG rounds. All other shotguns correctly had a reduced rate of fire with frags, except the USAS and MK3A1.
-USAS-12: Increased the initial recoil. Reduced the total pellets fired from 12 to 9. The USAS 12 has a higher ROF than other shotguns, this recoil change better balances that advantage and the pellets balance its damage output.
-Fixed the Rate of Fire when the USAS and MK3A1 are equipped with FRAG rounds. All other shotguns correctly had a reduced rate of fire with frags, except the USAS and MK3A1.

For the most part, just for the USAS while slightly improving the others to make them equal. Also eliminating MAV elevators and making MAVs explode after roadkilling an enemy, both of which I'm happy about...

Also: Battlefield 3 Close Quarters

I used to play COD 4 all the time, it was one of my favorite games and an awesome game at that. However I do not play video games and have not for a couple years now. I just don't have the desire anymore to play. However just posting to show support to a great game and franchise.

Metro is probably THE worst battlefield map ever made.

Also, as far as the whole beginning guns argument goes, the M416 is, in my opinion the best gun for the assault class, followed closely by the M16, both of which are available to players after like 3 hours of playtime, if that.

I'll disagree with the first bit, I quite like the close quarters combat, mixes things up a bit.

I agree that the beginner guns aren't bad, not by a long shot. The gun I use most often is the 870MCS!

Vehicles do benefit a lot from the upgrades though, particularly the jets!

I don't have a problem with the cqb aspect of metro, it's its linear nature that I hate. There really is no way to flank an objective once you get inside the train, the maps essentially are won or lost by attrition with very little, if any strategy going into it.

Add into that that when its on conquest mode, the entire map is essentially dominated by CoD kiddies running around with USAS and MK3A1 with frag rounds, or super skilled M320 spammers, and the map makes me leave the server if I'm not playing with my clan.
