I'm really late to this thread, coffee wise, I buy green beans ($5/lb) and roast my own in a "Whirly-Pop" pop corn get-up (DON'T roast inside your house), then,even though I have all the paraphernalia, I just use a simple "Mr Coffee" machine. Hell guys, its just hot water over good ground coffee, the big deal is FRESH and roast your own. Scotch? I got a bottle of single-malt "Blair Athol" (Jeez, I hope they weren't typing with a lisp) my wife bought me "over there", I looked up the price and now I hesitate to drink it.

I take my coffee like my women...hot and bitter.
Coarse ground premium French Roast from a local or Peetes, or Starbucks in a pinch.
French press for four minutes. Ahh....
I keep the ground coffee in the freezer...
Maybe I should look into getting a grinder for Christmas.

In the coffee episode of Good Eats (Art of Darkness I think), Alton Brown recommends against that.
Catsquare, and other folks, I "Googled" Whirly-Pop coffee roasting and got lots of stuff. Best to do this roasting outdoors with a gas burner or in the garage because the smoke is really acrid and abundant. I use 2 strainers to cool the beans and with a little breeze the chaff blows away as you pour them back and forth.
+100 for Aeropress. Sold my espresso machine after getting one. The only other thing I keep is an Ibrik and turkish grinder for Turkish coffee. I don't understand why Turkish style coffee isn't all the rage. My fav !!
Oh- I also have a ceramic drip/melittia style filter, but Aeropress is just the best IMHO.

I stopped at an Original pancake house and really enjoyed the coffee. A bit shocking how good. I believe it's Boyds' Coffee Shop blend.

Im a huge coffee fan but came late to the game at 45. It gave me some reflux issues 
I was using a Toddy cold filter brew system to cut down on reflux. Works pretty good and easy to use.I also found the flavor to be much better than hot brewed coffee. Now i have a Burr grinder and a Breville Espresso machine i use to make latte's. Pretty good stuff! I usually use decaff but about twice a week i get the real stuff. On days where i sing i use coconut milk which is surprisingly good! Favorite local coffee place is Trianon in Westlake. They do a very good job of making a rich flavorful crema which is truly delicious!

Just roasted 300 grams of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe I got from Sweet Marias in my upgraded panel Behmor. The first batch I did Monday I stopped at about City, this one I really liked the body and pushed it a little further tonight to second crack. Looking forward to trying it Tuesday or Wednesday.
I was once at a function with my wife, a lovely woman of color, and we were asked how we took our coffee.
Her reply was "I like my coffee like I like my men, light and sweet."
I shot back "I like mine like I like my women -- black and bitter."
Everybody within earshot completely lost it.
