Cold feet about nut

So I just ordered a bass from Dunable, and its in my home in december or january ish!
Pretty stoked, I went for the Yeti bass.

I told him to make it ready for 115 strings.
Should I worry about the nut to not fit a 110 string?

Or am I totally over thinking this.. It would suck to get the bass, and find out that the nut is a little too wide for 110 strings! How do I "Unwide" the nut for example?

Im probably over thinking it.
My other basses nuts are not fixed at all, and they fit a 110 fine. But with a 120 string I probably have to bring out the file.

A few years ago I asked a bass tech guy to widen the nut slots on one of my basses so that the EADG slots could fit .130, .105, .085, .065 (BEAD) strings. After some times, I decided to string the bass back to EADG tuning without making any changes to the altered nut slots, and the strings sit just fine on the bottom of the widened slots for a year or so, prior I sold the bass.

You'll be perfectly fine. You can probably use a .090 and it would be fine.

I just ordered a Dunable as well.
What strings do you plan on using?

I currently use (on my Ric) GHS Bass Boomers 50-115
I tune to C#, so I'm concerned that with the 35" scale and the strings going through the body that those strings won't work on the Dunable.

Any opinion on that is apreciated.

Doesn't the bridge on that particular bass have the top-load option? If so, the "long-scale" Boomers with 37.25" winding length (ball to silk) should be long enough on the 35" scale.

I use 95-40's, no issues with whatever the nut was cut for before...

most nuts are already not cut well and I at the very least touch them up.

Yeah, I went there, too LOL. My wife tells me I gotta grow up. Applied for Medicare 3 days ago, so maybe when I get my card, I'll finally be all growed up.

The part that got me was where the original poster said, "I told him to make it ready for 115 strings."

Man, just the time it'd take to tune before a gig is off-putting. Not to mention the weight of the bass with all those strings. :)
