P.S. - I have been a user on TB forums since 2001. I have taken breaks, and I forgot my last username so I made a new one. I was a wallflower; nobody would remember me.

I chose TB forums for this poll due to the diversity of the user base, as well as the fact that it is a very active forum.

Hey, I'm the first to respond! Probably because I'm sociologist and not afraid of a questionaire.

Did you take in account TB is a international forum? These questions will probably get very different answers for the US and Europe.

And some advice: As it is, this question is not a sociological question but a antropological one. In sociology you'd be searching for how the results of this question relate to social dependencies. If I was your professor I'd be critical.

It is about social dependencies...in the form of familial stability outcomes due to personal belief. These outcomes have effects on mental, physical and social health. I see what you mean, however, with the questions seeming anthropological in nature.

TB is indeed international. Religion is international as well.

Where this poll misses and why I can't answer is you don't distinguish between religious and spiritual and you assume either religious or atheist. I was raised in a non-religious but very spiritual household and have come to the conclusion that there is no possibility of evidence either proving or disproving the existence of a creator and see no option but to admit I just don't know.

For this I do apologize. I used all of the poll slots possible. I DO appreciate your clarification however, and I will incorporate your response into the results. Thank you for participating. =)

Edit: For my intents and purposes, though, I characterize "spiritual" as essentially "non-religious." I realize, however, there may be holes in this that I might have to address in some way later on.

I love your sig quote, BTW. Very true. My own mantra is that one must lay the groundwork for an epiphany; it won't just suddenly come.
