Coloured flatwounds?

I'm not talking about black or white or other nylon tape wound strings.

Are there any colour coated flatwound strings?

Purely for aesthetics. My jet King would look awesome with black strings, such as DR black beauties but I don't want to use rounds in part due to fast fret wear on that guitar and in part due to playing preference.

Coated black flats ala DR BBs would be . Don't know of any, but I haven't looked. If they exist, I bet Jason at bassstringsonline knows about 'em.

The way flatwounds are constructed... The flat ribbon is wound around the string then polished smooth. This would remove any color on the flat ribbon wire.

I do know of something and have something in my possession. It was a one off kind of thing but maybe they changed their mind... I'll ask them about it this week at NAMM.

It was just an idea I understand about the polishing and all that. Maybe I will just see how black tapes sound though the bass was dark enough with stainless and nickel rounds on.
