Combining half stack and combo

I have a Peavey Firebass 700 (plugged into 2x15" 400w) and an Ampeg ba210. Both have line out and the Peavey has an effect loop. I was thinking about trying xlr to 1/4" (from the Peavey line out into the Ampeg instrument input). My bass would be plugged into the Peavey. Any thoughts?
Setup would only be used until I have enough cash to pick up a second cabinet for the Peavey.

its called slaving... run the line out from the amp into the 1/4 input of the second combo and you wont have any problems.

It can be done, but I think you would be wasting your time. The BA 210 is not very loud at all and adding it to the 215 (which I am guessing is much louder) will do very little for volume and end up making your 215 sound not so great.

If you really like your 215, I suggest getting another identical 215 when you have the money.

Really will not add anything in the way of volume, but CAN cause frequency cancellations that *could* make your big rig sound bad.

The only rationale for doing it (that I can think of) is if you wanted to use the combo as a directional monitor -- say, either elevated and pointed right at your head -- or to point at a drummer who wants more bass.

Ad for frequency cancellation: this is most likely. But once in a while you hear of someone mixing disimilar speakers and being real happy with the result. The only way to know if it works for 2 particular speakers is to try it.
But with mismatched volume coming out of them, cancelation is a side issue.
