Good morning TBers. Got a very specific question: has anybody played both the Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4 and the Stiletto Studio 4? Even just on a test-drive? And if so, what’s the difference in playability? Do they “feel” the same? Looking at the specs, they seem to have the same dimensions.
Background: I’m a lefty and don’t have much opportunity to test out basses. Three years ago on a business trip to Houston I was able to visit a left-oriented shop called Southpaw Guitars where in two hours I test-drove more lefty basses than I had in the thirty years before that day. (Note to lefties, if you can make the trip out there, it is soooo worth it!)
They had a Stiletto Studio 4, and I tried it, and fell in love with the feel. Couldn’t justify buying another bass at the time, but things have changed and I’m in the market again. However, the $889 price tag is a little steep. I can pick up a Stiletto Extreme for about $550. I’m just a basement noodler so I’m not worried about the standard Schecter equipment on the less expensive one, and I’m totally not worried about bolt-on versus neck-through (in fact, my Hamer Cruise Bass has a set neck that got a little warped over the years, so being able to replace a neck is something I wish I could do).
So my main question is: if anyone’s played both of those models, to they feel the same?
