I had one of those and when working out parts with headphones there was a distortion. A familiar distortion present riding in the signal on lower notes as when the Timing CAP of attack and release are too close together..

Did you try adjusting the trim? I was getting some distortion because the signal from my Stingray is so hot. A one quarter twist to the left on the trim solved the problem lickety split. I never play without my Demeter...

I know.... Its been a while coming... I was almost going to get the M87.. BUT i read reviews that some folks were having issues with parts failures???????I dont know...
But i like the Threshold LED on the new Keeley. And i like DBX units too and the Keeley bassist is supposed to be similar to the VCA dbx.. They alawys get the job done..
I have an 1175 and A-Design 500 series BAC500 in my home studio.. .But i really needed a pedal...And when i saw the new keeley. i jumped on it.

I did..I had issues with the Demter compulator ..I am and was mostly using my Alleva Copplo passive P bass or my 65 p bass.. Sometimes a Sadowsky with preamp OFF.. ... all passive.. The Demeter only distorted on low notes. even when not pushed. If you have a compressor where you can adjust the ATTACK and Release separately.
Sometimes if the Attack is too fast and the release is also set to fast , the Comp will have a distortion type tone when playing lower notes... Especially on a 5 strings Low B.. Its as if the compressors threshold is crossed and turning on and off between the peaks of the deep low notes.. So you have to increase the ATTACK time... But the Demeter that i had did it all the time. Its almost a warm fuzzy distant DIst.
You would not notice it thru an amp/ But when i plugged into a headphone amp. bango . there it was.
So i went back to using my old DBX 160 or 163x in my FX loop. The Keeley will be a nice thing to see
