The factory default HPF in my hyper luminal compressor is 125hz. Can anyone help explain some reasons why I might want to adjust this or leave it as is?

Compressor HPF settings

The Hpf in a compressor is for the detection circuit. No hpf filter means the compressor is triggered by the full range signal. Lower bass frequencies have more energy and with a hpf the comp isn’t triggered all the time. 125 hz is good. I would leave that as it is. Experiment with this function and change the frequency to see and hear how it affects the signal
Yeah, 125 Hz is good on the high-end for a side chain HPF. I generally like it set between 80 Hz and 120 Hz, depending on what I want the compression to sound like.
