Computer Video Player Keeps Crashing

I just downloaded winamp, and the same thing happened as with Xvid: it's in my system, but it won't play the video.

The version I downloaded was free; there is also a pay version for $19.95. I suspect it's the same as the BS player deal: The free version won't play DVDs, while the pay version will.

I'm starting to think that if I downloaded these movies in a file form I'd have no problem, as with movies from itunes.

Such a minor, yet annoying problem.

SUCCESS!!! :hyper:

I was looking through all the functions of VLC Media Player, and came across "Check For Updates."

I downloaded the updates, and it said that this version of VLC Media Player has many of the bugs of the old version worked out.

I had already done this in post #5.

This time, however, it advised me to remove the older version of the player, which I did, and now it's playing movies fine.

I guess the older version was all messed up.

I'm so relieved!

I was getting ready to take it back to the shop - thankfully I didn't have to.

I still don't understand why the other players I downloaded couldn't see the movies when I loaded them.

I am going to start reading more about the operating systems of computers, and how they work.

Again, I want to thank everyone who responded, and tried to help.

Thank you all. :)

I hope I can help you guys someday.

Mike ;)
