Configuring my stack. Advice!

Hello,

I just got my first stack. I got a hartkey LH-1000 for the head. And for the amps I got the hartkey hydrive 410 and the hartkey hydrive 115. Can anyone tell me how to configure it to get the loudest and best sound? Thank you!!

First, you are not allowed to tell us about a new amp without posting pics. Second, there is no "y" in "Hartke." Third, prepare to receive some crap for mixing drivers. Finally, no one is going to be able to tell you how to get the best "sound." That's something you're gonna have to do on your own and it has much to do with the bass you're playing, the technique you're using, and the style of music you're playing. That said, I would start with a flat EQ and go from there. Best wishes.

The best advice I can offer is DON'T OVER EQ. I personally set my amp EQ to flat. In most cases this is with the bass, mid, and treble, set with the pointers straight up at 12:00. Young players often start out maxing the bass. This may sound great in your living room but will kill your power in a live mix. Adding too much treble can be addictive as well and again does nothing to help you cut through the mix. And, sometimes, when you can't cut through the mix, adding some mids will help the most. So, go easy with the tone controls and above all, have fun.

Welcome to TB.

The head IS the amp. The 15 and the 4x10 are the speakers.
I'm guessing you're just excited about the new toys.
Hang around, we'll keep you on the straight and narrow.
Or drive you completely bonkers. :wacky:

What the others say about the EQ is good advice.
Don't try to squeeze too much bottom end out it all.
Always listen to your cabs. The 15 might get a good workout compared to the 10s.
If you hear something that doesn't sound right, back off on the loudenkranker control.

For your speakers, you can try stacking with the 15 on the bottom, then try it on the top.
See what you like best.
Don't be afraid to try just one cab at a time.

Also, if you play in different places, things might sound different due to room acoustics.
And that's part of what the EQ stuff is for.

Next order if Biznuss... pictures! We wanna see that bad boy rig :hyper:

put the 15 on the top! it won't be as loud or take as much power as the 4x10, so at least if it's on top you'll better hear if you're pushing it too hard.

set the amp to bridge mode for 1000w at 4Ω and just run it to the two cabs, but only with one speakon cable off the head and jumped from one cab to the other cab.
