NBD -1978 jazz bass

Hey everyone! I dont post a lot but heres my newest instrument. A 1978 Jazz bass, olympic white, completely stock. I got it for a song and it is my new #1. Previous owner must have played a residency inside of a chimney to get this color!
Anyway it plays and sounds incredible, and it is a looker. Not for sale!!!

well - I was all excited, as I have 2 '78 P-Basses (my 1st & 3rd basses I acquired way back when) BUT - I'm not disappointed!

My `79 is nuts.

man that thing must have been hung on the wall of a smokey tavern from the time it was built till they banned indoor smoking. But I love it! Hope it plays as good as it looks and doesn't break your back! congrats!

There SHOULD. be an official name for the 50 year old Fender white that turns a bizarre orange-ish yellow. My 78 Musicmaster did the same thing. Nicotello?

Thank you! You might be right because the neck doesnt have a ding on it but the body saw some miles SOMEWHERE. It is 11.6lbs but I dont mind at all. Heavy basses balance on your leg perfectly when sitting!

Now it's Old Gold.
