Double Bass Confused about pickups, what might work better for me?

I get more volume and better sound (more volume is objective, better sound is clearly very subjective) with the Full Circle than I have with the Realist, Underwood, or RevSolo I. Of course, every pickup is different on every bass, so YMMV. But, the thing I really like about the FC is that it's as close to plug and play as a DB pickup can get. If you already have bridge adjusters (with the right thread) in a well-fitted bridge, it's about impossible to install it incorrectly. Also, once it's in there, it's pretty impervious to the bumps and jolts that sometimes move any of the bridge wing pickups. I am by nature a lazy person, I guess, because I like to show up at the gig and spend about 1 minute fiddling with my equipment before I'm ready to play.

Wow, this got a crazy amount of responses, thanks guys.
I have a bit of an update, I tried wiggling the pickup around and making sure the brand was on the bottom and got a much better tone, and especially with the EA rig it was sounding really great. But, the Aggie rig still doesn't sound real great, but I'm guessing with a pre will help with that.
However, the pickup is still kind of fickle, and I'm thinking of going with a full circle to keep from having to adjust it every time I put the bass in a gig bag.

Wait, wait! You seem to almost be there. You say it was sounding great with the EA rig. Let's work with that. The Rev Solo definitely has a "sweet spot." Here's what I suggest. Once you find the optimal position, mark the pickup with a pencil so that you can instantly return it to that position. If the pickup is still just a bit loose such that you think it might move, place a single piece of scotch tape over one side of the pickup. That very small thickness might just be enough to tighten it up. You can, of course, put a piece on each side. Best of all, its reversible.

I went to Aguilar's site to check the input impedance and it's not even in their manual. fdeck's HPF/pre may be just the ticket. From what I read about the Aguilar, it's "philosophy" and tone-shaping circuitry doesn't strike me as being designed such that it would be near ideal for amplifying a DB. I have no experience with this amp so if others have found it useful for DB, then I will defer to them. My point is that you may not be happy using this amp with any of the highly recommended pickups mentioned here. One big clue is that you got great sound with the EA rig but not with the other one.

I know you've mentioned this before, but it helped me a lot at one point. Really great tip.
