Come to think of it, "baby grand" is just as oximoronic as "piccolo bass". OTOH, arguing against usage is even more onic...
"Piccolo bass" isn't oxymoronic since bass and piccolo are not opposites. "Small" and "low" don't contradict each other.

Confused On String Length

Or they could follow the lead of the mandolin set and call it an octave bass. An octave up or an octave down ... the harmony still works.
The only question now is whether or not the old E string can be reinstalled while waiting for the replacement.
The good news is yes! I took it off carefully just in case I had any issue and very glad I did so I'm not out of commission till the correct ones get here. Ordered the new set and will be able to send the others back since they are still in new condition. I put the E string up there, saw it didn't work and put it back in the pack. Never even looked at the other 3.
